1. What we collect
- Account info — name, email, department, password hash (never the plaintext).
- Learning activity — courses you enroll in, lesson progress, ratings, discussion posts, certificate completions.
- Technical data — IP address, browser/device info, usage logs.
- Optional info — phone, avatar, two-factor secret (if you enable it).
2. How we use it
- To deliver the learning experience: serving courses, tracking progress, issuing certificates.
- To keep accounts secure: detecting fraud, locking out brute-force attacks, sending security emails.
- To communicate: confirmations, password resets, course updates, occasional product announcements.
- To improve the platform: aggregated analytics on what's working and what isn't.
3. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data — to anyone, ever.
- We don't show third-party advertising.
- We don't share your learning activity with your employer beyond what's already implied by the relationship (e.g. internal company training programs).
4. Sub-processors
We use a small set of trusted vendors to operate the platform — cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, error tracking. Each is bound by data-processing agreements that mirror our commitments to you.
5. Your rights
You can:
- Access a copy of your personal data we hold.
- Correct inaccurate data via your account settings or by contacting us.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
To exercise these, email privacy@valuedrivertechnology.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
We retain account and learning data while your account is active. After deletion or 30 days of inactivity following an account closure request, we anonymize or remove personal data unless we have a legal obligation to retain it (e.g. financial records).
7. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, hashed passwords (BCrypt), strong authentication, and least-privilege access controls. We're SOC 2 Type II certified and undergo regular third-party security audits.
8. Contact & complaints
If you have a concern we haven't addressed, contact our DPO at privacy@valuedrivertechnology.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) of Nigeria.
